Alexander Alexandrov: Believe in our children, because they are our future

Mr. Alexandrov, will you share with our readers how did you learn about Stelko's disease and why did you take the fate of a 12-year-old basketball player from Sliven to heart? Please tell us.
I found it out on the page created on facebook to raise funds for Stilian's fate. I also spoke with his mother. Jivko Zhelyazkov from Sliven offered me to make a volleyball tournament to raise money for the child. I was invited to patronize this event. We collected a not small amount of moneyfrom this tournament, which I am very happy about. But I'm even happier that things are looking more positive for Stilco.
Mr. Alexandrov, tell us more about the project of the Volleyball Scout league.
Plamen Konstantinov proposed to me to support the first edition of the league, at the time, when only girls were playing and mostly from Galata, in the spring of 2016. This was the beginning of something that ended in a year with the international tournament in Burgas. We made two contracts the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, which were the basis of our interactions. The idea of the federation was for “Razvitie” Corporation, to become the general sponsor. We completed the ambitious project, for which it is considered that is unique in Europe. We even included an international finale. Due to that, the participating teams were 76 total and around 1200 to 1300, children were participating. The tournament was played in more than 10 towns in the span of six months. Throughout the whole event we again interacted with Vlado Nikolov and Mr. Slavchev. On our side was the association of Velin Krachanov. Separate from that we received assistance from all regional representatives of the Bulgarian Volleyball association. We received moral support from the sport legends: P. Kostantinov, Vlado Nikoliv, Borislav Kyosev, Lyubo Ganev, Evgeni Ivanov, Antonina Zetova, Mila Rangelova. We received financial support from sports center “Aqualive” Kranevo, with head manager Orlin Dzhelepov, “Dzhoma Bulgaria”, with owners Ivan Vasilev and Valentin Nikolov. We also received assistance from the mayors and the city councils of Burgas, Plovdiv, Vidin, Velingrad, Stara Zagora. I especially want to mention the assistance of the minister Krasen Kralev. He became the first high government official to undisputedly praise “Razvitie” Corporation as a private business structure, which does a lot for the future of the sport and the youth of Bulgaria. He helped us and the Minister of State Prof. Dasheva, especially in the financing of the boys' finals. Finally, I thanked my personal assistant, Stefan Angelov, who was thrown at the Scout League’s front and my wife, Bozhana, who was involved in the financial logistics and reports of the spectacular competition. All 400,000 Bulgarian leva needed for volleyball children passed through her hands. I thank her specially because the extreme efforts around the League has created a certain discomfort due to my personal problems and concerns.
On 28.02.2018 was the premiere in the capital of the film "Islands of Normality". The premiere in Sliven is expected in March. Why Sliven?
Why Sliven? Because the things that happen in your city are just wonderfull. It is very nice to work here and your children have played and made it to a good placement in the rankings of this tournament. Here you show how the things happen to the children, which is commendable.
Where does this passion in you to help children comes from? Are you a religious person? Something must have shook you, for there to be a reason to help people so much? Do you have other recent projects?
When we created “Razvitie” Corporation, I chose its primary concern to be for the children. Donating and helping children is an important part of the life of “Razvitie”. We support children in sports, as well as orphanages, children at risk. For many years I have been working on football. I was president of FC Academic Sofia. I worked mostly in the football field. Two years ago I started the Scout League project as last year I financed it with 400,000 leva.This year I created the “Play with Razvitie” Foundation, which helps talented children. We support volleyball, basketball, football, handball and swimming. Of course, we do not only support children in sport, we also support art. We have a literature contest “Razvitie” with a small cash prize. I think we are doing well with the help of talented people in Bulgaria.I would say that I am a believer, but not a religious person. I had a very difficult time in my life. I was sick ... When a man is sick, he gets a new perspective many things. At that moment I realized that life was too short, and our time here is not long. Then I paid great attention to the children. They deserve it with their talents. They are our future and we need to invest in them. We have to support and believe in them. In Bulgaria there are many quality children with many gifts and talents. For this year we have three main projects: volleyball, basketball and handball. We will make two national teams of boys and girls up to 16 years old and the international grand tournament for the Scout League in Burgas.

I like our region. I am a bornin Stara Zagora and I love this region of Bulgaria. I like your town and I believe it is a good place to live and it will get even better for the development of Sliven’s children.
