04.04.2017

Chief Economic Advisor – Ivaylo Kalfin, joins the team of euro commissioners for Budget and Human Resources – “Günther Oettinger”.

Mr. Kalfin will be a special adviser to Oettinger, by his contract until the end of 2018.

The European Commissioner for Budget and Human Resources has four special advisers, including former Italian Prime Minister – Mario Monti.

Ivaylo Kalfin was among the most active members of the Monti-led group formed in 2014, which was created as a result of the negotiations on the 2014-2020 budget framework and aims to discuss and propose options for better financing of the EU budget.

As a special advisor to Günther Oettinger, Kalfin will work on the new financial framework of the Union and will be responsible for relations with the European and national parliaments.

He will have access to work on the European budget. In this connection, Kalfin guarantees, the Bulgarian position will be protected.

Ivailo Kalfin is only the second Bulgarian to be invited for this prestigious position. Before him, Meglena Kuneva - after completing her mandate as euro commissioner - was a special adviser on passenger rights of the European Commission's Vice-President of Transport – Mr. Seim Kallas.

This is another extremely serious acknowledgment of the qualities and expertise of Ivaylo Kalfin and for the leadership of the “Razvitie” Corporation it is a great honor to be part of his team.
